Operational services staff at Winton Multipurpose Health Service have won a state-wide award for excellence.

Winton Director of Nursing Jen Williams said the award was part of a state-wide recognition program that celebrated the exceptional contributions of operational services staff and work teams across Queensland Health.

She said this included staff involved in environmental cleaning and porterage/patient assistance roles, as well as staff supporting those functions.

Ms Williams said the Winton operational services staff had continued delivering excellent service despite significant restructuring of the team, with core staff retiring and moving onto other roles.

“As well as the restructure of the team, they have also managed changes to hospital and aged care menus, as well as adjustments in workflows,’’ she said.

“Despite these changes, they have continued to work above and beyond expectations to ensure the ongoing delivery of quality services to other staff, patients and the public.

“This award acknowledges their outstanding achievements and the positive impact they have made within our healthcare environment.’’

Central West Hospital and Health Service Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services Troy Lane said the Winton operational services staff were an example to all.

“This award is a state-wide recognition of their dedication and commitment, and I commend them for their efforts,’’ he said.
