Directors of Nursing from health facilities across the Central West region will be heading to Tambo from 20-24 October for their annual conference.

Central West Hospital and Health Service Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services Troy Lane said 16 Directors of Nursing would be attending the conference.

“Given the huge distances between communities in our region, our Directors of Nursing rarely get to meet each other face to face during the course of the year,’’ he said.

“The annual conference is an excellent opportunity for them to get together and share their achievements and learnings from the past year.

“But it’s not only about learning and development, it’s also about celebrating the dedication, resilience, and leadership of our Directors of Nursing, who play a vital role in supporting safe, sustainable health services in our communities across the outback.’’

Mr Lane said this year’s program at Tambo would feature training sessions, guest presentations, and workshops focusing on clinical skills, leadership, wellbeing, and emergency preparedness.

“Highlights will include collaboration with partners such as Queensland Ambulance Service, and Disaster Management Branch, along with education from other specialist teams,’’ he said.

“It’s a valuable opportunity for nursing and midwifery leaders in some of Queensland’s most remote communities to connect, share knowledge, and strengthen the delivery of high-quality health care across the Central West.’’
