The Central West Hospital and Health Service is calling for further expressions of interest to join the
currently forming Tambo Community Advisory Network (CAN).

Central West Health Blackall Hub Director of Nursing and Facility Manager Frances Harlow said
additional members were required for the CAN, with applications closing on 15 March.

“We have four very community-minded members interested already and would like to appoint several
others before the first scheduled meeting of the new CAN on 23 March,’’ she said.

Ms Harlow said the purpose of the CANs was to provide a mechanism for consumer and community
engagement with local health facilities and the health service generally.

All CAN positions are volunteer positions.

“The CANs help identify the community’s health needs, allow information to be shared regarding service
delivery and allow consumers and community to have input into the planning, development and delivery
of public health services in their area,’’ she said.

“Through such a process, each health facility will receive ongoing broad community input into the
development of services.

“Joining their local CAN is an excellent way for residents to become involved in helping guide the future
service directions of their community’s health facility.

“I urge Tambo residents to take the opportunity to apply to join their CAN.’’

Ms Harlow said the first meeting of the new CAN on 23 March would be held at 12.30 pm at the Tambo
Multipurpose Centre.
